President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that there will be no winners from rising energy prices, but there will be economic consequences. He said this on March 13 in a conversation with the BelTA news agency.

"There will be no benefit here. If anyone does, it's for a short period of time. And then it will start to wind up. And inflation will continue to accelerate," he said.

Lukashenko added that Minsk takes a "human" position on the conflict in the Middle East. In his opinion, there will be no winners in the conflict.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on March 13 that the stabilization of the energy market is impossible without Russian raw materials. He added that the withdrawal of a number of Russian oil products from US sanctions would help "to some extent" stabilize energy prices, which are rising due to the war in Iran.

On March 10, US President Donald Trump announced that Washington would lift sanctions against the oil sector of a number of countries in order to control rising energy prices amid the war in Iran.

Later, on March 12, the US Treasury announced that as part of the changes in the US sanctions policy, an exception was granted for the sale of Russian oil and petroleum products shipped before March 12.
