Rescuers found the body of the second child of three teenagers who fell through the ice on the Moskva River in Zvenigorod on March 7, 2026. The boy was found seven kilometers downstream from the scene of the tragedy. The search for the 13-year-old girl continues around the clock. All the details are in the Izvestia article.

The circumstances of the incident

The tragedy occurred on the afternoon of March 7 in the Vostochny Zvenigorod neighborhood. Three friends, 13—year-old Alina and two 12-year—old boys Ivan and Bogdan, went for a walk and did not return home, their mobile phones stopped responding. According to investigators, the teenagers went to a grocery store, bought chocolate, and then took the shortest route towards the Moskva River.

On the shore, rescuers found the hat of one of the children and three pairs of shoe tracks leading to the water. There were no return tracks. Later, the testimony of an eyewitness appeared — a local fisherman who saw the children drowning and screaming for help, but could not save them. Another local resident heard the screams, but mistook them for childish games.

Rescuers noticed finger marks and nail scratches on the edge of the ice — the children were desperately trying to get out of the icy water, but the ice was crumbling. According to the preliminary version, the teenagers went out onto the ice sheet, which could not withstand their weight.

Body detection

The first body, 12—year-old Ivan, was found by divers on March 11, 800 m downstream from the place where the children allegedly fell through the ice. The boy was pushed by the current under the shore at a depth of about ten meters, he was fully clothed.

The body of the second boy, Bogdan, was found on March 13, seven km from the scene of the tragedy. The information was confirmed by the GSU of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Moscow Region and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation.

The reaction of law enforcement officers and the scale of the search

A criminal case has been opened into the disappearance of the teenagers. The head of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, Alexander Bastrykin, took personal control of the investigation. As part of the case, the necessary examinations will be appointed to determine the causes of death.

The search operation is underway around the clock with the participation of about 150 specialists and 50 pieces of equipment: rescuers from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the State Committee for Defense "Mosoblpozhspas", volunteers from the National Center for Missing and Injured Children, volunteers and police officers.

During the search, the divers made 74 dives, examining 16 thousand square meters of the Moskva River water area. On side-view boats, 730 thousand square meters were checked over a 36 km area. Hiking groups covered 59 km of coastline. Almost 500 people took part in the search for three missing children in the Moscow region.

From the air, the area is monitored using drones, a helicopter and a light aircraft. At night, the banks and riverbed are patrolled by five airboats with searchlights. Due to high water, 12 posts were set up to monitor the ice situation. Psychologists from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations are working with the relatives of the dead children. The search for 13-year-old Alina continues.
