The introduction of devices for detecting vehicles that are too loud may begin in Moscow in 2027. This was announced on March 13 by Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of the capital for Transport and Industry.

As Liksutov explained, a change in legislation is necessary to put such devices into operation.

"Accordingly, we have asked the Moscow City Duma to submit this proposal to the State Duma in order for these changes to be made. We expect that these decisions will be made this year and next," the Moscow City News Agency quoted him as saying.

The fact that Rosstandart issued a certificate for a new complex of photo and video recording called "Ether", which is able to measure the noise level on the roads, was reported in January last year. The complex is designed to deal with excessively loud cars and motorcycles. Since 2021, specialists from the Center for Traffic Management (TSODD) have been testing the complex and conducting studies of the permissible noise level from vehicles.

The day before, it was reported that the number of car thefts and thefts in Moscow has decreased by 97% over the past 13 years. Deptrans noted that this result was achieved through the introduction and development of photo-video fixation complexes. To date, about 3.7 thousand cameras are operating in Moscow, which use neural networks to detect 67 types of violations.
