Norwegian skier Johannes Klebo fell during the semi-final sprint classic at the World Cup and was hospitalized. This was reported on March 12 by Dagbladet newspaper with reference to the coach of the Norwegian national team, Arild Monsen.

"Klebo falls are a very rare occurrence. The World Cup and Olympic champion is known as a true master of skiing and almost always avoids trouble," the message says.

Klebo hit the back of his head hard on the surface of the track. After the fall, he remained lying for some time, holding his head.

As Monsen noted, the athlete was conscious and able to talk. He was given an initial checkup in an ambulance and then taken to the hospital for a more thorough examination.

Klebo won the sprint race at the World Cup on March 7. In the final, the athlete covered the distance in 2 minutes 49.84 seconds. Lars Heggen, also from Norway, followed him with a 0.42-second gap.
