The expert stated the impossibility of a sharp rise in the price of gasoline in Russia

Gasoline in Russia will not rise sharply due to rising global gasoline prices amid the situation in the Middle East. Igor Yushkov, an expert at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, told Izvestia on March 12.

He noted that the share of oil itself in the structure of the cost of gasoline in the Russian Federation is small. According to the expert, the main part of the cost is taxes, as well as fees and excise taxes.

"Unlike in Europe or the United States, we have a very small proportion of the cost of oil itself in the cost of a liter of gasoline," Yushkov said.

The expert also suggested that an increase in world oil prices could stabilize the situation in the Russian domestic market, since in this case oil companies receive sufficient revenue from exports.

In addition, Yushkov added that the Russian government is monitoring the situation and is also trying to keep fuel prices rising within the inflation range.
