Klebo hit his head while falling in the sprint at the World Cup
The titled Norwegian skier Johannes Klebo failed to complete the classic sprint race at the home stage of the World Cup in Drammen on March 12.
The incident occurred during the semi-final race on one of the slopes. The reason for the massive blockage was American Ben Ogden, who accidentally stepped on Klebo's ski. As a result of the fall, two more participants of the race were injured.
The Norwegian hit the back of his head hard on the track and for some time could not get up on his own, the newspaper Sport-Express added. Leaving the stadium, accompanied by the organizers of the competition, the 29-year-old Norwegian athlete continued to hold his head.
Klebo is the most decorated skier in the history of the Winter Olympics (11 gold medals). In February of this year, he set a record by winning six gold medals in one Game. He also has 15 World Cup wins and five overall World Cup triumphs.
Klebo won the sprint race at the World Cup on March 7. In the final, the athlete covered the distance in 2 minutes 49.84 seconds.
