"The Battle for Our Own: Donetsk, Mariupol, Bakhmut" is the name of the 352-page volume, which includes 50 reports authored by Sergey Prudnikov, a special correspondent of Izvestia. The materials cover the period 2022-2023.

"The burning land of Mariupol. The terrible months of the massacre in Donetsk. Evacuation of the population in the Kherson region. The underground labyrinths of Bakhmut-Artemovsk. Forest battles near Kremennaya. The Avdeev epic. Officers, conscripts, volunteers, football fans, medics, civilians, war children. First—person stories - from the very beginning. The book is a unique chronicle of what is happening in the SVO zone. Something you won't hear on TV. Objectively, without ratings and cliches, journalistically honest. 50 texts that will make you understand and feel what is happening today in the epicenter of crucial world events — in Donbas," the annotation says.

"At the center of each piece are human stories. Which can only be collected in the fields, personally traveling to the field – to units, to battlefields, to burned cities, to front-line roads, to hospitals, to the rear. It is very important that these reports did not scatter like paper airplanes in different directions, forgotten immediately after publication, but were accumulated under one cover. Now they can be read both five and ten years after the publication and the events described," the author shares.

The collection will arrive in the country's bookstores in the near future. Print, electronic, and audio formats will also be available.

Sergey Prudnikov has been working as a special correspondent for Izvestia in Donbas since 2018. In 2024, he also began covering events in the Kursk region. Winner of the Khaled Alkhateb International Memorial Awards: 1st place in the nomination "Best work from the conflict zone" (2023). The winner of the journalistic competition "About Education-2025" and the creative industries competition "Family — the foundation of the world" (2025) — for his reports from the free zone.
