Sobyanin announced the start of construction of the largest electric depot
Construction of the Troitskoye electric depot, Russia's largest, has begun in Moscow, the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, said on his channel in the MAX. The facility will be completed in 2029.
11 buildings will be erected on a land plot of 26.7 hectares located between Kaluzhskoye and Novomikhailovskoye highways, the mayor said. The complex will house a motorcycle depot for maintenance and repair of motor-rail transport, an administrative building and blocks of industrial and residential premises.
The largest facility is a production and administrative block with an area of about 100 thousand square meters. m. "There have never been similar complexes in the country in terms of size and technological equipment," Sobyanin stressed.
A training ground for practical training of locomotive crews will be created in the electric depot, where train control skills will be honed, and an energy complex that will serve only the new depot. 70 inspection ditches will also be designed, twice the usual number.
In 2025, the construction of the main section of the Troitskaya Line, 25 km long, was completed and construction of its southern section to Troitsk began. By the time the work is completed in 2029, the length of the new metro line will reach 43 km.
