For small trips, it is worth choosing domestic destinations, and if the vacation is planned for 10-14 days, then it is better to consider the countries of Southeast Asia. Elena Borovaya, CEO of Corporate Travel, told Izvestia about this on March 12.

For short-term trips lasting several days, the expert advised focusing on domestic tourism. However, according to the expert, it is worth avoiding too popular destinations such as Sochi, Kaliningrad, Baikal or Altai, as high demand for these places often leads to higher prices. Instead, the expert recommends choosing less obvious destinations such as Krasnoyarsk, Yekaterinburg, Perm, Tyumen and Tobolsk, where you can spend time quietly and at a more affordable price.

"It is worth mentioning Moscow and St. Petersburg separately. Many people do not take into account that on May holidays, metropolitan hotels often offer more favorable rates due to a decrease in business activity," the expert noted.

As Borovaya emphasized, if a tourist is planning a longer vacation, for example, for 10-14 days, then international destinations can be considered. First of all, these are Southeast Asian countries such as Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia, as well as the Seychelles, China and India, where direct flights are possible.

In addition, Borovaya noted that more and more tourists are choosing independent travel. However, recent events in the Middle East have shown that such tourists can be vulnerable in the event of force majeure, flight cancellations or the closure of destinations. The expert stressed that independent trips require more responsibility, since in such situations travelers are forced to solve problems on their own.

"Tourists who travel through tour operators can be accommodated in hotels or taken out on special flights at the expense of the tour operator and airlines, as tour operators are legally responsible for tourists," Borovaya concluded.

The press service of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) On March 3, it was reported that due to the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East, travel for Russian tourists has become significantly more expensive. Direct tours in the countries of the region increased in price by 40-120 thousand rubles. It was noted that the closure of airspace in the Middle East significantly affects the prices of tours to exotic destinations, especially to the Maldives, Sri Lanka, Indonesia and Malaysia, where previously it was profitable to fly with transfers in the countries of the region.
