In Petrovsk-Zabaikalsk, a 23-year-old man was detained who had been using fake online receipts for several months to buy alcohol in stores. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Trans-Baikal Territory.

The city police department received a statement about the shortage of 150 thousand rubles in one of the local stores. During the operational measures, law enforcement officers found out that one of the buyers may be involved in the loss of money.

The suspect turned out to be a previously convicted local resident who often took alcohol in large quantities. When paying for goods, he showed fake receipts on his phone. The store staff handed over the goods without checking the actual receipt of funds.

A criminal case was opened against the attacker under part 2 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Fraud," writes ChitaMedia news agency. The person involved is currently on his own recognizance.
