Geely has denied the withdrawal of the Okavango crossover from sale in Russia

Gili-Motors continues to supply and sell the Geely Okavango model in Russia, and the model is in steady demand in the seven-seat crossover segment. This statement was made by the official representative office of the brand in Russia, refuting the information about the model's departure from the Russian line, which appeared in the media, TASS reported on March 12.

When Geely Okavango entered the Russian market in the spring of 2024, its price ranged from 3.45 million to 3.6 million rubles, depending on the configuration. Currently, the crossover is offered in the same equipment level at a price starting from 3.9 million rubles (excluding special programs).

The front-wheel drive Okavango has a four-cylinder two-liter gasoline turbo engine with a capacity of 200 hp (325 Nm) combined with a seven-speed preselective automatic transmission with a dual-clutch "wet" type. The cabin is designed for seven passengers (boarding formula 2+3+2 ). The seats of the second and third rows can be folded and adjusted back and forth, each separately.

The model's equipment list includes, among other things, a driver's seat with memory function, parking sensors in front and rear, wireless charging for smartphones, a panoramic roof with a sunroof, an electric tailgate with a contactless opening function, as well as an all-round camera system, a digital dashboard (10.25 inches), a six-speaker audio system, and a central display (12.3 inches), six airbags and other options.

The day before, it was reported that the Moskvich automobile plant decided not to launch mass production of the compact crossover with the index 5, which was introduced in April last year. Prior to this, Moskvich reported that it had produced several hundred Moskvich 5 crossovers, and in the future the model could go into mass production, but the launch will be accepted based on the results of the tests.
