The IDF announced the elimination of the Hezbollah commander in Beirut
On March 12, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that it had eliminated the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), who acted as coordinator of the Hezbollah rocket forces in Beirut.
"This week, the IDF attacked and eliminated Abu Dharr Mohammadi, the commander of the IRGC missile unit within Hezbollah in Beirut," the IDF said in a Telegram channel.
Israeli intelligence says Mohammadi was a central figure in the military coordination between Hezbollah and the Iranian regime.
On the night of March 12, the IDF attacked 10 targets of the Hezbollah movement in the Dahiye region of Lebanon. It is specified that the strikes were carried out on launchers and militants of the movement, as well as on the intelligence headquarters and the headquarters of the Radwan unit. On March 11, the Lebanese Hezbollah movement announced the launch of Operation Al-Assaf al-Makul against Israel.
The IDF press service reported on March 9 that on the night of Monday, March 9, it launched a targeted and limited ground operation against the Hezbollah movement in southern Lebanon. Before the ground units were deployed, massive attacks were carried out on the intended targets.
