The conflict in the Middle East is putting Iran's water supply on the brink of collapse, as the country is running out of water. This was reported by Bloomberg on March 12.

"The conflict is unfolding in the most water—scarce region in the world and in one of those that has been severely affected by climate change," the article says.

According to the agency, the country is experiencing the most severe drought in the entire history of observations. Experts estimate that more than four-fifths of Iran's 93 million people face extremely high levels of water scarcity.

"Drinking water is Iran's biggest strategic vulnerability," said Swati Viravalli, a member of the advisory board of the Center for Climate and Security.

It is noted that about 90% of water in Iran is used in agriculture, which has become more important as part of the policy of local authorities.

Earlier in the day, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the start of a new large-scale wave of strikes on Iranian territory. It is noted that the strikes are carried out in several directions simultaneously.

The Axios portal reported on March 9 that the United States was unhappy with Israel's strikes on Iran's fuel infrastructure. It was noted that the scale of the Israeli operation was "unexpected" and caused a negative reaction from the United States.
