- The Iranian ambassador announced the country's readiness for negotiations on the lifting of sanctions.
Iran does not refuse to negotiate, but a number of conditions must be fulfilled, including the lifting of sanctions and compensation for damage to the republic. This was stated on March 12 by the Iranian Ambassador to Russia, Kazem Jalali, at a press conference dedicated to the International Day of Al-Quds.
"If there are negotiations, then there will be conditions...> All sanctions against Iran should be lifted. And we need to compensate for all the damage that has been inflicted on Iran," RIA Novosti quoted the ambassador as saying.
The diplomat noted that in order to start negotiations, it is first necessary to end the military conflict. At the same time, he stressed that Iran will resist "to the end."
On March 11, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar sent a letter to the UN Security Council, in which he justified the joint US and Israeli strikes on Iran, saying that such actions were allegedly necessary to prevent the development of the Iranian nuclear program. He also called on the UN Security Council to condemn Iran's actions against neighboring countries and demanded that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) be recognized as a terrorist organization.
Russia's permanent representative to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzia, said on March 11 that American military facilities and infrastructure located in the Persian Gulf countries are legitimate targets of Iran within the framework of the right to self-defense. In addition, Russia's permanent representative to the United Nations stressed that the United States had actually framed the Persian Gulf countries with its aggressive actions.
