Russia insists on a diplomatic solution to the war in Iran, which is the most preferable option. This was announced on March 12 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

"We continue to adhere to our consistent position on the preference for an early transition to political and diplomatic methods of resolving the situation around Iran," he said during a briefing.
