The program of the IV International Multi-day cycling race "Gold of Ladoga" will be expanded

The program of the IV International Multi-day cycling race "Gold of Ladoga" will be significantly expanded in comparison with previous years. Cycling competitions will be held from May 25 to 31 on the roads of the Leningrad region, the Republic of Karelia and St. Petersburg. The cycling race will open the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum Sports Games.

"The Gold of Ladoga multi-day program has been expanded to cover all categories of the cycling community: professionals, amateur clubs, corporate teams, representatives of adaptive sports. Instead of a tournament among mixed amateur teams, separate competitions will be organized for men's and women's teams. Also, for the first time, para—cyclists led by three-time world champion Alexey Obydennov will take part in the Ladoga Gold," said Daria Silaeva, Head of the Roscongress Foundation's Directorate of Sports and Entertainment Events.

The winner in the women's team competition and general classification will be determined based on the results of five stages. The girls will drive more than 300 km. The paravelosport team will compete in a tournament for corporate teams, in which they will have to overcome three stages and more than 120 km.

"The participation of the Paralympians is important not only for ourselves, but also for other athletes. I've seen paraathletes inspire riders many times during competitions. Paravelosport practices in our country are among the best in the world, and we have long been a reference point for other teams. During his suspension, he managed not only to maintain his skills, but also gain new experience. We will fly to the Gold of Ladoga from the Russian Championship, so we will be in good shape. It is very important for paravelosport to get the opportunity to talk about themselves at such a big sporting event under the auspices of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum," Alexey Obydennov emphasized.
