Moscow has once again become the most accident-prone region of Russia, accounting for 9% of all road accidents in the country by the end of 2025. This was reported on March 12 by RIA Novosti with reference to data from the VSK Insurance House.

Krasnodar came in second place (7%), followed by Moscow (6%), Novosibirsk (3.6%), Rostov (2.8%) regions and Bashkiria (2.8%). It is noted that Tatarstan (2.1%), St. Petersburg (2.3%) and Chelyabinsk Region (2.7%) dropped out of the list of leaders of the rating.

The top five most emergency vehicles (according to CTP calculations) last year included Lada (12%), Toyota (11%), Kia (7%), Hyundai (7%) and Nissan (5%) brands. At the same time, popular Chinese brands account for about 5.5% of accidents, with Chery, Haval and Geely brands among the leaders.

Last year, the share of accidents involving corporate vehicles was 20% (plus 2 percentage points per year). Among the perpetrators of the accident, 80% are men at once, the insurer estimated.

At the same time, Moscow has also become a leader in road safety in 2025. According to the Interior Ministry data provided on February 21, the death toll in road accidents on the capital's roads was 2.2 people per 100,000 population.
