An employee of a government agency was arrested in Khabarovsk on charges of treason

The Central District Court of Khabarovsk has detained a local resident accused of treason. This was reported on the instance's website on March 12.

"A resident of Khabarovsk, holding a senior position in one of the regional state government institutions located in the territory of Khabarovsk, is accused by the preliminary investigation body of assisting a foreign state in activities directed against the security of Russia and the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation," the publication says.

The FSB investigator requested the arrest, pointing out that the accused has a valid passport, has previously traveled several times to countries with which the Russian Federation does not have an extradition agreement, and may abscond. In addition, according to the investigation, he transferred funds to support the armed forces of a foreign state.

The prosecutor's office supported the investigator's motion. The accused and his lawyer objected and asked for house arrest. The court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention for a period of two months — until May 9, 2026.
