A tanker was attacked off the coast of Iraq, and a fire broke out. This was reported on March 11 by the Sabereen news agency.

"An attack on an oil tanker in territorial waters near Iraq," the Telegram channel said.

The footage shows flames blazing on the deck of the tanker.

Later, Iraqi analyst Salman Haider reported on the social network X that the Iraqi Navy had rescued the ship's crew.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on March 9 that oil production, which is tied to the Strait of Hormuz, risks stopping completely in the coming month. The Russian leader noted that the storage facilities in the region are already being filled with oil that cannot be exported, and the route itself is actually closed.

CNN reported on March 10 that Chris Wright, the head of the US Department of Energy, announced the passage of a tanker with the support of the Navy through the blocked Strait of Hormuz, but later deleted the message. A CNN source refutes the statement by the head of the US Department of Energy, noting that the US Navy has not yet escorted any tankers through the Strait of Hormuz.

The press service of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced on March 11 that Iran would not allow any oil tankers related to the United States and its allies to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. The IRGC also reported that an Israeli ship flying the Liberian flag was attacked in the morning, ignoring warnings.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
