- Orban spoke out in response to the Ukrainians' threats against his children and grandchildren.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said on March 11 that after threats from ex-General of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Grigory Omelchenko to his family, he contacted his daughters, urging them not to be afraid, but to take threats seriously.
"At such moments, the family comes together, they are doing well. I asked everyone to take this seriously, but not to be afraid," Orban said in a video message posted on Facebook (owned by Meta, a company that is recognized as extremist in Russia and banned).
He also noted that he had asked his daughters to talk to their older grandchildren, who "already understand what is happening." Orban stressed that it is important to remain calm in such situations.
"My wife, I am sure, will play a key role in this," he added.
Orban has four daughters, a son, as well as three grandchildren and three granddaughters.
