United Russia has begun voting on the selection of candidates for the State Duma and the Moscow Regional Duma

The United Russia Party has launched a preliminary vote to select candidates for elections to the State Duma and the Moscow Regional Duma. This was announced on March 11 by the party's press service.

"The procedure for nominating candidates for the preliminary vote of the United Russia party has begun. This is the actual start of the election campaign, which will be held in September 2026 across the country, including the Moscow region, where elections to the State Duma, the Moscow Regional Duma, as well as a number of municipal campaigns will be held," the message says.

Igor Bryntsalov, secretary of the Moscow region branch of United Russia, speaker of the Moscow Regional Duma, suggested that the renewal of the Moscow Regional Duma could amount to 30-40% following the election results. He also noted that the tasks of the party set by Russian President Vladimir Putin include the active involvement of veterans of a special military operation in public and political life.

It is noted that the registration of voters will take place from April 20 to May 29 through the portal Gosuslugi. Voting will last from May 25 to May 31.

The party will provide special attention and benefits during the preliminary voting to its veterans.

On March 4, Vladimir Yakushev, Secretary of the General Council of the United Russia Party, told Izvestia that graduates of the Time of Heroes program would be among the candidates from the EP for the State Duma elections. He added that, in addition to graduates of the Time of Heroes, graduates of other United Russia educational projects are highly likely to speak on behalf of the party.
