At the same time, the activities of Alexander Galitsky and his Almaz Capital Partners corporation in Russia were demanded to be banned as extremist.

In February 2026, the billionaire's ex-wife, Aliya Galitskaya, was taken into custody in an extortion case. The woman allegedly demanded to pay her more than $150 million for her silence.

Aliya Galitskaya faced up to 15 years in prison, but two days later she committed suicide in an IVS in the Moscow region. It became known from the decision of the prosecutor's office the day before that a criminal case was opened against Aliya Galitskaya in the absence of sufficient data indicating signs of a crime.

Izvestia previously reported that Galitsky's Almaz Capital venture fund was involved in major projects to support the Ukrainian economy. A series of grants were allocated to Ukrainian companies after the start of their work, and the businessman himself was listed as a member of the supervisory board of the Ukrainian Venture Capital Association, through which this financing went.

Earlier that day, the prosecutor's office demanded to ban the activities of Galitsky and Almaz Capital Partners (LTD) corporation. The reason was the presence of signs of extremism in her work.
