Moskvich automobile plant has confirmed the rejection of the crossover with the index 5

The Moskvich automobile plant has decided not to launch mass production of the compact crossover with the index 5, which was introduced in April last year. This was reported to Izvestia on March 11 by the brand's press service.

"According to the results of internal tests in the corporate park, it was revealed that the Moskvich 5 model does not fully meet the criteria for consumer properties adopted by the Moskvich technocluster. We are focused on the release of the Moskvich 3, Moskvich 3e, Moskvich 6 and Moskvich 8, as well as the new M line. As for the Moskvich 5, it was decided not to bring this model to the market," the company's press service told Izvestia.

Last year, Moskvich reported that it had produced several hundred Moskvich 5 crossovers, and in the future the model could go into mass production, but the launch will be accepted based on the results of tests.

The Moskvich 5 is based on the Chinese JAC Sehol X6 crossover with a length of 4505 mm and a wheelbase of 2660 mm. The Moskvichi 5 produced in the capital is equipped with 1.5 turbo engines (136 or 174 hp) and a CVT and has front-wheel drive.
