Moscow State Traffic Inspectorate announced a raid at pedestrian crossings

Tomorrow, on March 12, the Moscow State Traffic Inspectorate will hold a citywide preventive event "Pedestrian crossing". The agency announced this in its Telegram channel.

Traffic police officers will monitor compliance with traffic regulations, both by pedestrians and drivers. As part of the raid, traffic inspectors will carry out information and explanatory work with children and adults on the rules of road safety when crossing the carriageway, as well as norms of behavior in the residential area and in courtyards, the State Traffic Inspectorate noted.

Last time, a similar raid took place in the capital on February 10. During the day, inspectors stopped 2226 violations of traffic rules by drivers and pedestrians.

On the part of vehicle drivers, 1,116 violations were suppressed, for which liability is provided under Article 12.18 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation "Failure to provide an advantage to pedestrians." Pedestrian road users violated traffic regulations 1110 times, for which liability is provided for in Part 1 of Article 12.29 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation "Violation of traffic rules by a pedestrian".

Today, 70% of all traffic lights in Moscow are connected to artificial intelligence. The mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, noted on March 6 that in 2025, data from traffic lights began to be transmitted to navigation services, this practice is unique not only for Russia, but also for Europe.
