Golubkov, a Russian skier, won a gold medal at the Paralympics in Italy.

On March 11, Russian skier Ivan Golubkov won the 10 km split start race in the sitting position at the Paralympic Games in Italy.

The athlete competed in class LW11.5 (lesion of the lower extremities and trunk). Golubkov covered the distance in 24 minutes, 5.8 seconds. It is noted that this gold medal became the third for the Russian national team at the Games.

Russian skier Varvara Voronchikhina became the winner of the Paralympic Games in supergiant on March 9. The athlete competed in the LW 6/8-2 class, finished the competition with a score of 1 min 15.6 s and brought the Russian national team the first gold medal at the Paralympics. Later, on March 10, Baghiyan won the classic sprint, covering the distance in 3 minutes and 16.1 seconds.

After Voronchikhina's victory, the Russian national anthem was played at the award ceremony for the first time since 2014 at the Paralympic Games. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the success of Russian athletes at the Games in Italy is a reason for pride for the whole of Russia.
