The average cost of a used foreign car returned to the level of a year ago

Although the volume of supply in the segment of cars with mileage no older than 15 years on classifide decreased by 4% month-on-month, the average cost remains on an upward trend. The average price of a domestic car increased by 1% by January, reaching 729 thousand rubles. The average cost of a foreign car increased by 3%, to 2.35 million rubles, excluding models from Chinese manufacturers. The latter jumped by almost 5% in February. The average price of a used Chinese car exceeded 2.2 million rubles for the first time.

At the federal level, the share of Chinese manufacturers in the total supply on the secondary market continues to grow. According to experts, in February 2026, it reached 7% against 4% a year earlier. Domestic brands account for 13%, and the remaining 80% are occupied by foreign manufacturers from other countries, mainly from Europe, Japan and South Korea.

Among models with mileage no older than 15 years, the largest drop in average cost in February was shown by BMW 7 series G11 (-2.6%; 6.79 million rubles), Lada 2107 (-2.5%; 262 thousand rubles), Kaiyi E5 (-2.2%; 1.2 million rubles), Kia Carnival IV (-2%; 4.23 million rubles) and Toyota Corolla E160 (-2%; 1.46 million rubles).

By the end of January, the average cost of a used car increased in a significant part of the country's regions. St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region once again proved to be the leaders: growth there exceeded 5% and amounted to 2.13 million rubles. In second and third place are the Republic of Tatarstan (1.58 million rubles) and the Chechen Republic (1.48 million rubles), where the increase in the average cost reached 5%. In the capital region, the figure increased by 4%, to 2.83 million rubles. Slightly more than 1% was a decrease in the average cost in three regions: Tyumen (1.56 million rubles), Penza (914 thousand rubles) and Tver region (1.15 million rubles).

By the end of the final month of winter, the average cost of a new car from a Russian manufacturer dropped to 1.99 million rubles.
