Russian President Vladimir Putin has instructed to prepare a decree awarding the star of Hero of the Russian Federation to Sergei Romanovich Yarashev, a 21—year-old serviceman from Samara who single-handedly held positions for 68 days near the Grishino settlement in the Red Army area. Currently, the fighter is in the hospital after a serious operation. This was announced on March 11 on the Kremlin's official website.

"Denis Pushilin, the head of the Donetsk People's Republic, reported on S.Yarashev's feat to the President at the meeting. After the conversation, the head of state received a detailed certificate from the Ministry of Defense, talked with the commander of the Southern Group of Forces, Colonel-General Sergei Medvedev," the message says.

As specified, the decree will be signed in the near future.
