The Hyacinth-B howitzer crew destroyed an APU cannon in the Dnepropetrovsk direction

Military personnel of the 152-mm towed Hyacinth-B artillery cannon of the Center group of forces destroyed an artillery piece of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Dnepropetrovsk area of the special military operation (SVO). This was announced on March 11 by the Russian Defense Ministry.

During the reconnaissance conducted by the operators of the unit of troops of unmanned systems (UAVs), it was discovered that the Armed Forces of Ukraine were moving between positions in the forest. After a detailed analysis of the intelligence, the artillery calculation received firing installations.

According to the ministry, the servicemen removed the disguise from the Hyacinth-B cannon, adjusted the cannon using drones in real time and destroyed the identified targets at a distance of more than 21 km.

"Shutting down Starlink didn't really affect our work. There is a military Internet, that is, a regular military Internet. We don't stay out of work, we don't see any problems. <...> I like Hyacinth better because it has automation, everything works, everything is simpler. Everything is based on hydraulics, pneumatics, less stress on yourself. With us, the targets come directly from the guns, that is, we have a counter-battery fight. We have some kind of area that we are responsible for, the shooting sector itself. That is, if they see some kind of enemy gun, we immediately run out and try to suppress it," said Sergei Malykh, the gunner of the Hyacinth-B howitzer, about his work.

On March 10, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that calculations of FPV interceptor drones of air defense units and troops of unmanned systems from the Dnepr group of forces destroyed 13 heavy octocopters R18 of the Baba Yaga type. According to the ministry, the calculations daily cover the sky over the advanced units defending the left bank of the Dnieper River in the Kherson region, and are searching for enemy attack and reconnaissance drones.
