European Commissioner for Economic Affairs Valdis Dombrovskis said on March 10 that the European Union would provide Ukraine with €90 billion in any case, despite Hungary's veto.

Hungary had previously blocked a loan agreed in the EU to Kiev for this amount, citing the decision to stop Ukraine pumping oil through the Druzhba pipeline.

"We are continuing negotiations, they are intense. This is not the first time that we have faced similar difficulties with Hungary. But every time we managed to unlock the situation, and I hope that it will be the same this time. However, I repeat: we will provide this loan in one way or another," RIA Novosti quoted the European Commissioner as saying.

On March 8, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky criticized the European Union (EU) in a new video message due to the lack of progress in supporting Kiev. According to him, there is still no movement on the €90 billion aid package for Ukraine. Zelensky also added that the 20th package of sanctions remains blocked.

The Neue Zürcher Zeitung newspaper noted on March 6 that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban's decision to block a loan to Ukraine had enraged the Ukrainian leader.
