The commander of the Rodnya detachment, Yevgeny Nikolaev, known by the call sign Hajduk, tragically died during a special military operation. This was announced on March 10 by the Pyatnashka international brigade.

"On this day, the Wild Division of Donbass is experiencing the pain of loss. We have lost our brother Yevgeny Nikolayev, known as Hajduk. Those who did not know him personally knew him as the commander of the Rodnya detachment, which is part of the Wild Division of Donbass. But for people close to him, he was much more than that — a writer, an intellectual, a man whose word always coincided with his deed," the TASS news agency reports.
