American businessman and founder of Tesla and SpaceX, Elon Musk, has been ranked first among the richest people in the world for the second year in a row. This was reported by Forbes magazine on March 10.

According to the newspaper's estimates, his fortune has doubled to $839 billion. The second place went to one of the founders of Google, Larry Page, whose fortune is estimated at $ 257 billion. The third position is occupied by his colleague and co-owner of Google Corporation, Sergey Brin, with a capital of $ 237 billion.

Jeff Bezos, the owner of Amazon, missed out on the top three for the first time since 2016, dropping to fourth place with a fortune of $224 billion. Completing the top five is the head of the Meta company banned in Russia, Mark Zuckerberg, whose assets are estimated at $222 billion.

The article also noted a significant increase in the number of billionaires on the 2026 list. According to the magazine, their number now stands at 3,428, which is 400 more than a year earlier.

Forbes magazine reported on February 3 that Musk became the first person in history whose fortune exceeded $800 billion. It was noted that the deal, which created a combined company worth $1.25 trillion, allowed Musk to increase his fortune by $84 billion, bringing it to a record $852 billion.
