Experts have described a typical portrait of a depositor in Russia

The portrait of a depositor in early 2026 in Russia is characterized by almost equal participation of men and women, with Russians aged 40 to 55 years showing the main activity. Deposits in amounts from 100 thousand to 500 thousand rubles remain the most popular. This was reported to Izvestia on March 11 by the press service of DOM.RF Bank.

According to the bank, in January and February 2026, men and women opened the same number of deposits, but the proportion of men was slightly higher in terms of funds deposited. They accounted for 53% of the total deposits, while women accounted for 47%.

Deposits in the amount of 100 thousand to 500 thousand rubles have become the most common. Their share in the total number of open deposits was 29%. Deposits from 1 million to 3 million rubles gained almost the same popularity — they accounted for 28% of all placements.

A little less often, clients opened deposits of up to 100 thousand rubles — their share was 23%. Another 14% accounted for deposits from 500 thousand to 1 million rubles. Deposits in excess of 3 million rubles were the least common, accounting for 6% of the total number of open deposits.
