The Disciplinary Committee of the Russian Hockey Federation (RIHF) has banned referee Miroslav Skugarev from hockey-related activities for life. This was announced on March 10 on the organization's website.

"The FHR Disciplinary Committee has ruled on an episode involving referees that occurred after the match between the teams Norilsk and Omsk Wings, which took place on February 21, 2026," the publication says.

It is specified that Skugarev is banned from hockey activities for life. Judges Ivan Shmakov and Ilnur Khazhiev were suspended for three years.

On February 23, the FHR decided to indefinitely suspend the chief referees Khazhiev and Shmakov, as well as linesman Skugarev, from serving matches under its auspices for immoral behavior. It is clarified that the referees were suspended from all competitions that are held under the auspices of the RIHF.
