Renault has released images of the new Bridger concept crossover. Next year, the model will be mass-produced and, as the company's press service reported on March 10, it should play a key role in the brand's international expansion plans.

The Renault Bridger features an angular exterior design, a spare wheel on the fifth door, illuminated by Renault lettering on the front, and aerodynamic discs. It is stated that the length of the car will not exceed 4 meters, the foot space for second—row passengers will be 200 mm, and the trunk volume will be 400 liters.

Technical details have not yet been disclosed. The production car will be built on the Renault Group Modular Platform Small (RGMP Small) platform, which supports both traditional internal combustion engines and hybrid and electric power plants. The crossover will be designed in India, and this market will be the model's debut. Later, sales will begin in Africa and the Middle East.

With the presentation of the new concept, Renault Group announced a new strategic plan for the concern called futuREady. According to him, the company plans to release 36 new models over the next five years, including 22 for Europe and 14 for international markets. Electrification will be a key element — 16 models for the European market will be fully electric.

By 2030, Renault Group aims to achieve annual sales of more than 2 million vehicles, half of which will be delivered outside Europe. It is expected that by the end of the decade, more than two thirds of Dacia brand sales (part of the concern) will be accounted for by electric vehicles.

One of the important elements of the plan will be the RGEV medium 2.0 platform being developed by Renault with an 800-volt architecture for the next generation of compact C-segment cars. It is expected that electric cars built on this "cart" will be able to travel up to 750 km without recharging, and the power reserve of hybrids will reach 1400 km.

Earlier, on February 24, the Russian Embassy in France informed Izvestia that Renault was effectively depriving itself of the opportunity to return to the Russian market due to its involvement in the production of military drones.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
