- The prosecutor requested 14 years in prison for the ex-head of Rosalkogolregulirovanie
The state prosecution asked Igor Chuyan, the former head of Rosalkogolregulirovanie, to be found guilty in absentia and sentenced to 14 years in a general regime penal colony in the embezzlement case. This was reported to Izvestia in the Tagansky Court of Moscow.
In addition, the prosecutor asked for a fine of 33.1 million rubles. According to investigators, in the period from 2013 to 2018, the beneficiary of OFK-bank Chuyan and his subordinate, the former president of the credit institution Nikolai Gordeev, organized the issuance of 115 deliberately non-repayable loans.
The money was transferred to the accounts of one-day firms controlled by the businessman's structures. In addition, in 2016-2017, funds were withdrawn from the accounts of the credit institution under fictitious agreements on assignment of claims. The total damage exceeded 30 billion rubles.
After being dismissed from the civil service in 2018, Chuyan left Russia, and later he was arrested in absentia and put on the international wanted list. In 2021, Chuyan was detained in Montenegro, but later the authorities of the Balkan republic refused to extradite him.
