More than 16 thousand people fell ill with acute respiratory viral infections in a week in the Angara region

Over the past week, more than 16.2 thousand cases of acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI) were registered in the Irkutsk region. The incidence rate is below the epidemic threshold by 41.9%.

Nine people have been confirmed to have the flu in the laboratory. This is reported by IA IrkutskMedia with reference to the regional department of Rospotrebnadzor.

Experts remind that self-medication for acute respiratory viral infections is unacceptable. In order to avoid the disease, it is recommended to follow preventive measures, including wearing a mask, reducing the time spent in crowded places, washing hands more often and carrying out wet cleaning of premises.

In Russia, 678 thousand cases of acute respiratory viral infections and influenza were registered in the first week of March. The current incidence rate is comparable to that of mid-September 2025.
