Ruslan Tsalikov, former First Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, has been placed under house arrest due to health problems that create detention in a pre-trial detention center. This was reported to Izvestia on March 10 by a source familiar with the situation.
The decision was made by the Basmanny Court of Moscow.
Tsalikov was placed under house arrest on March 5. Thus, the court satisfied the investigator's demand.
Tsalikov was removed from his post by Russian President Vladimir Putin back in June of the year before last. Leonid Gornin, who previously served as first deputy finance minister, was appointed to replace him in the same month.
On March 5, the official representative of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation, Svetlana Petrenko, announced the initiation of a criminal case against the former First Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation. It was noted that in the period from 2017 to 2024, he created a criminal community, whose members committed embezzlement of budget funds, laundered money and received bribes.
