In February 2022, a Ukrainian pensioner helped the Russian military detect a saboteur of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) near Kiev. This was announced on March 10 by a veteran of the special military operation (SVO), a test operator of Gadfly drones with the call sign Celentano.

The military participated in the operation in the village of Gostomel in the Kiev region. According to him, many Ukrainian saboteurs tried to hide in the rear. To do this, they shed their uniforms and crossed the Irpen River, the Newspaper adds.Ru». During the arrest, one of them claimed to live in one of the houses in the area.

"There was even a case when such a person was detained. He was detained on the street. He began to claim that he lived in a house on such and such a street. And there were civilians there, and Grandma came out and said, "He's lying! <...> He doesn't live there!"— said a veteran of his military in an interview with RIA Novosti.

The press service of the FSB of Russia for the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) reported on February 20 that the Gorynych anti-terrorist unit of the regional directorate of the FSB of Russia had destroyed saboteurs from Ukraine. FSB officers tracked down and destroyed seven Ukrainian terrorists who were trying to bypass the assault groups of the Russian Army and strike at them from the rear.
