The LDPR proposed to transfer pension points by inheritance

In Russia, it is necessary to introduce a mechanism that allows pension points to be inherited. The corresponding proposal was made by the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party Leonid Slutsky, as evidenced by an appeal addressed to Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, which was reviewed by RIA Novosti on March 10.

"The appeal proposes to consider the possibility of introducing a one-time compensation to heirs in the event of the death of the insured person before the appointment of an insurance pension. At the same time, the payment should not apply to those who receive a survivor's pension," the document says.

According to Slutsky, the current pension system provides for the formation of pensions at the expense of insurance contributions from employers. However, according to him, the current legislation does not allow the inheritance of accumulated points of an individual pension coefficient.

The document clarifies that inheritance is possible only with respect to the funded part of the pension, which is formed according to a separate insurance premium rate and is recorded on a citizen's personal account.

Slutsky stated that this situation looks unfair, since in the event of a person's death before retirement, the pension points accumulated by him are actually canceled and cannot be used by his relatives.

According to the LDPR leader, it is proposed to establish a one-time compensation to the direct relatives of the deceased insured person. The amount of the payment is planned to be determined based on the average social pension for the last three years, as well as taking into account the length of insurance experience and the number of accumulated pension points.
