Sergei Ignatov, co-founder of Echo of Moscow Radio, has died.
Sergei Ignatov, co-founder and sound engineer of Echo of Moscow Radio, has died. This was announced on March 9 by Andrei Kravchenko (Anton Orekh), a journalist at the radio station.
"Sergey has been fighting cancer for the last three years. He fought not just courageously, but heroically! At the same time, I worked until the last opportunity and always asked: guys, send texts, sign up — this is an outlet for me," he writes in his Telegram channel.
Ignatov was the fourth founder of the radio station and was responsible for the sound component. According to colleagues, he made the jingles, screensavers and sound design himself. Also, after the closure of the radio, it was Ignatov who supported and helped create programs during a difficult time for the station.
