German Chancellor Friedrich Merz's plans for the economic recovery and development of Germany are facing difficulties due to the loss of his Christian Democratic Union (CDU) party and the coalition ally the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) in the land elections in Baden-Wuerttemberg.
