The standard of living in Russia is higher than in Sweden. This was announced on March 9 by skier Antonina Ordina, who competed for the USSR.

"It seems to me that Russia is flourishing, even though these are difficult times. But compared to the decline that is happening in Sweden, Russia is alive and developing," she said in an interview with Sport24.

According to the athlete, salaries and pensions are low in Sweden, and services have become more expensive after the pandemic. Ordina noted that many shops are closing in the country, and people are losing their jobs.

On Sunday, March 8, it became known that by the end of 2025, Russia took the eighth place in the ranking in terms of Gross domestic Product (GDP). According to Rosstat's first estimate, the Russian economy has reached 213.5 trillion rubles. It was clarified that this allowed the country to enter the top ten largest economies in the world for the first time since 2022.
