Russia has prepared a draft UN Security Council resolution on a cease-fire in the Middle East

Against the background of the armed conflict in the Middle East, Russia has prepared a draft United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolution calling for a cease-fire and de-escalation. This was announced on March 9 by an informed source who submitted such a project.

"The Security Council <...> calls on all parties to immediately cease their military activities and refrain from further escalation in the Middle East and beyond; condemns in the strongest terms all attacks against civilians and civilian infrastructure and calls for their protection, emphasizing the obligations of all parties in accordance with international law, including international humanitarian law," — cites the text of the RIA Novosti project.
