The appointment of Mojtaba Khamenei as the new supreme leader of Iran shows that the Islamic Republic does not intend to make concessions under external pressure. This was stated on March 9 by Turkish politician and lawyer Onur Sinar Guzaltan.

"Iran, contrary to the rumors that were spreading, did not make concessions and did not choose a religious leader more loyal to the West, but chose Mojtaba Khamenei as leader," the RIA Novosti analyst said.
