An earthquake of magnitude 6.5 was recorded off the coast of Kamchatka. This was announced on March 8 by the Kamchatka branch of the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of the Federal Research Center "Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences".

According to the geophysical service, the tremors were recorded at 17:08 UTC (20:08 Moscow time). The source was located at a depth of 48 km. The epicenter was in the Pacific Ocean.
