The Ukrainian authorities are not going to return to the countries of the European Union (EU) a single cent of the loan in the amount of € 90 billion, which they additionally want to provide for military needs. This was announced on March 8 by Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico.

"The €90 billion military loan, which does not involve Slovakia, Hungary and the Czech Republic, is not a loan at all, but an ordinary gift. Because Ukraine will not return anything out of these €90 billion, just as it will not return anything out of the other hundreds of billions of euros it received," Fico wrote on his Facebook page (owned by Meta, recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).

He noted that the Slovak government considers it the right decision not to involve the republic in this financial program.

European Commission (EC) representative Olof Gill said on March 6 that EC members are exploring the possibility of allocating financial resources for Ukraine to repair the Druzhba oil pipeline. He stressed that the EC is aware of the current state of affairs with the Druzhba oil pipeline.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said on March 5 that the restoration of the Druzhba oil pipeline is technically possible within a month and a half, but this will happen only if Europe finds ways to unlock a loan of €90 billion for Ukraine.
