Residents of the capital named their favorite places for winter holidays
The Moscow project "Active Citizen" has completed a series of three votes dedicated to winter holidays. On the platform, residents of the capital chose their favorite ice fields, ski trails and tubing slides in different areas of the city.
"The polls have gathered more than half a million opinions. For example, the participants identified the most popular skating rinks," said Deputy Mayor Natalia Sergunina. It turned out that the townspeople prefer to skate at VDNKh, Gorky Park and Sokolniki Park.
Residents of the capital also appreciated the free skating rinks at the Moscow Seasons festival grounds. Along with the possibility of free skating, ice shows staged by famous figure skaters and training sessions led by professional instructors were held there. Muscovites recognized the ice spaces on Revolution Square, Trade Union and Khachaturian Streets as the most popular locations.
The best ski trails, according to the participants of the Active Citizen, are located in Sokolniki Park, the Luzhniki Olympic Complex and the Tsaritsyno Museum-Reserve. In the latter, the routes run along the palace part of the park, along the slopes near Nizhny Tsaritsynsky Pond and along the Biryulevsky Arboretum.
The slopes in the Moskino Film Park, Kuzminki-Lyublino and Tsaritsyno nature reserves were recognized as the most popular slides for riding on "cheesecakes".
Ice rinks, ski trails and other outdoor recreation areas were equipped as part of the Winter in Moscow project, which was attended by a total of 32 million people. More than 57,000 charity events, family and children's programs, as well as sports and other events were held there for Muscovites and guests of the capital.
