The authorities of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) denied involvement in the strike on a desalination plant in Iran, The Jerusalem Post reported on March 8, citing Ali Al Nuaimi, chairman of the UAE National Defense Committee.

"As neighbors, <...> we care about them (ordinary Iranians. — Ed.) well—being," Al Nuaimi told the newspaper.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) also denied involvement in the attack. The newspaper's journalists, in turn, expressed the opinion that the Emirates "would not attack a civilian target in order to enter the war," but rather would strike at a military facility. The media adds that it is impossible to say whether any UAE strike was carried out against Iran at all.

The Israeli portal Ynet reported that the UAE military allegedly attacked a desalination plant in Iran on the same day. The media pointed out that this was the first attack by the UAE on a target in Iran.

The President of the United Arab Emirates, Muhammad bin Zayed Al Nahyan, said yesterday that the United Arab Emirates is at war, but the authorities will continue to fulfill their duties.
