The Arab countries are not a party to the conflict in Iran, they initially opposed the war. This was announced on March 8 by Secretary General of the League of Arab States (LAS) Ahmed Aboul Gheit.
"The Arab countries are not parties to the ongoing war, they did not want it to start <...> They announced in advance that they refused to provide their airspace and their territory," Abul Gheit is quoted as saying on the league's website.
He also recalled that Qatar, Egypt and Oman had previously mediated in negotiations between the United States and Iran. According to him, they made every effort to prevent an armed conflict.
On the same day, Iranian President Masoud Peseshkian said that the United States and Israel were seeking to provoke discord between Iran and the Gulf states. At the same time, the president stressed that Iran's retaliatory actions to aggression continue, but they have nothing to do with neighboring states.
On March 7, the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, commented on the attacks from Iran and covertly called the Islamic Republic an enemy. The politician said that the state under his control "is not an easy prey."
