- Iranian authorities have notified residents about acid rain due to explosions of oil storage facilities
Iranians were notified about acid rain due to toxins that entered the atmosphere after the explosions of oil storage facilities. This was announced on March 8 by the Iranian Red Crescent Society.
"Explosions at oil storage facilities lead to the release of large amounts of toxic hydrocarbon compounds, sulfur and nitrogen oxides into the atmosphere and clouds, which form dangerous acid rain when precipitation falls," the society wrote on its Telegram channel.
According to the report, the authorities advised residents of Tehran not to go outside during the rains. In addition, it is also not recommended to leave the room immediately after the rain due to the danger of evaporation.
On the same day, CNN reported that Israel had launched attacks on Iranian oil storage facilities as part of the next stage of the conflict in the Middle East. It is noted that fuel storage facilities in Tehran were hit.
